Volunteer Opportunities

The Sacramento National Wildlife Refuge Complex extends a warm invitation to volunteers of all backgrounds to contribute to our conservation efforts across our refuges. Individuals aged 16 and above (with parental permission) are encouraged to explore the various volunteer opportunities available. Whether you're interested in habitat restoration, visitor services, or educational programs, there's a role for you. To apply, please review the information below outlining the different types of volunteer positions and how to get involved. All volunteers undergo interviews and screenings to ensure a suitable match between their skills and interests and the needs of the refuge. Additionally, field work opportunities may be available for small groups or organizations. Please note that position availability may vary annually due to changes in staffing and funding. Join us in preserving and protecting our natural heritage—apply to become a volunteer today!
