The creation of families through surrogacy is an important service offered by The Fertility Center of Las Vegas.
By using a gestational carrier, we can provide individuals or couples the opportunity to achieve parenthood using their sperm and/or eggs.
What is surrogacy? A gestational carrier (GC) or surrogate is a healthy woman who agrees to carry a baby through pregnancy for an individual or couple. The GC only provides a host uterus for the baby and does not contribute any genetic material (eggs). The embryo is created using an egg from a female, which can be one of the intended parents or an egg donor. The egg is then fertilized by sperm from a male partner, both male partners, or a sperm donor. In vitro fertilization using a surrogate can be performed for a variety of individuals, including single females, lesbian couples, gay couples, and heterosexual couples. Your gestational carrier may be a family member, a friend, or a compensated or non-compensated volunteer. Read on to find out about the gestational surrogate process.
