The Pathology Laboratory at UPMC McKeesport is fully licensed by the state of Pennsylvania and the College of American Pathologists. It operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, every day of the year. The laboratory supplements its testing capability by using reference laboratories that provide high-quality service for our physicians and their patients.
The quality of the work is continuously monitored by internal quality control programs, participation in proficiency testing programs, and participation in hospital-wide continuous quality improvement programs.
